 Thai Paper Money Prior to the use of Modern Banknotes

          Siam had used Bia(cowrie shell) and Pod Duang(steel bullet) as the money since 13th century untill Siam established diplomatic ties and trade relations with foreign countries in 19th century. The former exchange medium were insufficient to meet the great demand of trading so the paper money was start using in 1853.
