This type of banknotes were the first type designed and printed from materials available domestically. they were printed at the Royal Thai Survey Department on paper from the Thai Paper Mill in Kanchanaburi Province. The quality of notes were low with raw surface and plain color, not attractive like the others series that printed from England.
People called these banknotes as "Kongtek notes" due to their apperance that looked similar to the Chinese faked notes that would burned to offer to the dead in funeral.
