3rd Series Thai banknotes
His majesty the King Prajadhipok (King Rama VII) acceeded to the throne in November 1925. The 2nd banknote series were first issuedon JUly 21, 1925 , only four months before the demise of King Rama VI. Therefore, the issuance of banknote 2nd series took place in the reign of King Rama VII. However, because of the change of monarch and before all the banknotes of 2nd series were completely placed in circulation in 1928, the Ministry of the Royal Finance decided to have a new series of banknotes printed for the first time featuring the King's portrait. With Royal Permission, the MInistry of Finance considered Thomas de la Rue's designs and proposals. Thomas de la Rue was assigned to print the 3rd series banknotes in four denominations; 1 Baht, 5 Baht, 10 Baht and 20 Baht.

3rd Series Thai Banknote Type 1

Type 1 : The front showed a portrait of King Rama VII on the left, the Garuda at the upper middle or above of the portrait, and the Ayarapot on the lower right corner. The Royal barge and the Temple of the Emeral Buddha were respectively depicted on this series. On the back was a picture of Phra Samut Chedi Temple among a guilloche design.

|
Type 2 : This type was identical to type 1. When the King Rama VII announced his abdication on March 2, 1934, the Prince Ananda Mahidol ascended the throne to become the eighth monarch of the Chakri Dynasty with the title King Ananda Mahidol (King Rama VIII). The portrait on banknotes was thus changed with the new notes being put into circulation in 1936.
